Me too. I was asking quinquin the other day about this - What does one need to do to, like, actually enjoy the job search? I mean, it's all about making life better, so it ought to be a positive experience. She didn't have a good answer, so I'm still curious...
You have my deepest sympathy. I know how hard it is. I hate it too. it is not fun but a necessary eveil. Here is hoping we are both done with it really soon
You know what you want to do and the general geographic are of where you want to work. You have a kickass resume.
You might want to skip the formal process of responding to ads and go right to calling the heads of agencies and asking for a meeting. Tell them that you're moving to the area, have gads of experience and are interested in meeting the key players in the field.
I'm holding off on sending unsolicited resumes until I have an address/phone number and definite relocation date. I'm also waiting, because I know CDC is releasing new funding for 7/1, and will release the names of the programs who got the funding. Once I know that, I can send them resumes whether they've posted positions or not.
