A Bad News Sort of Day...

Agency that I'm trying to get a job with didn't get one of the grants that they would have hired me for.

Job I applied for with another organization has been filled already.

I'm going batty over this.

i know this is probably of no consolation whatsoever, but having just gotten my master's degree in May, and today getting the passing results of my state licensure exam, i'm still not getting results. the worst is that they aren't even returning my phone calls. the return calls i have gotten have said i'm overqualified. i hate job hunting with a purple passion.

I'm out of grad school four years. I'm at that awkward point of being overqualified for a lot of stuff, and really ready to take on some management positions, but without gobs of management experience, it's hard. And then of course, there's the fact that no one's got funding right now.

I'll find something...eventually.

Nod nod. And besides that grad degree that I have, I'm looking for a position that's not quite a match with my degree.. and again, without a lot of management experience.

My brother said... anyone who won't hire you because you have "too much education" is looking to fill the position with someone dumb. Surprisingly good advice.

True. Although "overqualified" can mean "too much experience, you'll be bored" or it can mean "I want someone who I'll have to pay less than what you're going to ask for."

I'm so frustrated. And scared of not finding something.
