So, I apparently can't apply for New Jersey state jobs until I know where I'm living-many of the onees that I'd consider are restricted to people who live in particular places.

I checked out a bunch of positions at the various colleges and universities in NYC...namely Manattan; I'm not sure anything else would be a reasonable commute. I'll apply for a couple of jobs...including an instructor position at BMCC. Why not, right? It's a teaching job...teaching is what I want to do. It's what I ache to do. It's half the reason I want to get my PhD. (The other half is to have access and support for research.)

Dream big, wish hard, and hope it works, right?

Should be sleeping, perhaps. But I've been running errands & working today. Will work on the sleeping thing in about...(checking clock)...ten minutes.

Couldn't you apply for state jobs in places where it would be reasonable for you to live, and then get housing after you got a job? Or does it just not work that way?
