Aug. 23rd, 2004 03:47 pmYou've heard me periodically rant about the slashing of funding for youth-serving HIV prevention programs in the DC Metro area. If you're a DC local and can give a bit of time, or know people who are DC local and care about this issue, pass this along to them.
This Thursday, at 8 PM a coalition of organizations in the region are sponsoring a candle light vigil to honor the lives of youth and to make a statement about the loss of one million dollars in prevention funding to agencies throughout the DC Metro area.
Details about the vigil (along with Washington Post and Washington Blade articles about the issue) can be found here. Basic information-Eastern Market Metro (blue and orange lines) meet across Pennslyvania Avenue from the metro station at 8 PM.
