It's twenty to three in the morning and I am awake.

I have had no caffeine. I haven't had excessive sugar...these are the two most common culprits for keeping me awake.

So why am I up at nearly three in the morning?

(I've given up on sleeping in the bed. I may try the couch and see if that helps, but I'm not going in to work on no sleep. The driving worries me too much.)

Stress?

When this happens to me, I usually find that there is some kind of good reason why I'm awake, such as an urgent task I've left uncompleted. Once I figure out what it is and take care of it, I usually find I can get to sleep.

Unless the cause is physical discomfort due to illness or whatever, in which case I'm not always successful in fixing it enough so I can go to sleep.

If you think it might be stress keeping you awake, is there anything you could do to make progress on any of the things causing you stress?
