So, for the last couple of days there have been these headlines that say "Castro Falls"-is it strange to you that when I saw it, I wondered about a coup in Cuba, and not tripping over a step?

I think it may mark the beginning of his end... faltering in such a drastic way does suggest his mind is starting to go, to some degree.

From the news reports, he tripped over a step. I've seen the footage and can't quite be sure. He's been in ill health for a while...Parkinsons or something, I think.

When I found out about that, it went a little like this:

cow-orker#1: So did you hear that Castro fell?
cow-orker#2: WHAT!?
me: What?
cow-orker#1 explains that he meant physically, not politically.
me, cow-orker#2: Oh.

That was kind of my reaction...I was half awake and doped up on muscle relaxants, and heard the TV say "Castro Fell."

while I was straightening some papers, they came back from commercial and Tommy B said, "we would like tonight, to report the fall of Castro". To which (all in within his pause) I .. jerked my head up to the TV -WHAT?!, noticed that it was 6:42p, thought isnt that something you want to report at the very beginning?!" ... and then Tom delivered the punch line.

I liked the US government official who said something to the tune of, "Well, we've been waiting to hear about the fall of Castro for 30 years now, but this isn't quiet what we had in mind."
