Yes. You read that correct. The post that follows contains information about goats and sex.



In the current issue of Poz magazine, there's an article about a guy in South Dakota who was arrested for having unprotected sex and not disclosing his status to his partners. As a sidebar to that article was an article about goat sex.


Summary:

Some guy in England saw a goat...lassoed it with his belt. And had sex with it...he was caught when a train was stopped at a light. Two guys jumped off the train and pinned him down. He was arrested and denied the charge until they found his semen on clothes found at the scene, and goat hair in his underwear. He was prosecuted and convicted and is serving six months in jail.

I happened to read this sidebar over lunch. And thought it was the most bizarre thing-I had to share it with work. It was even more bizarre because it was in a publication we get at work, which has information for things that we do, and all that.

Just as well Nooks isn't on LJ, eh? Anyway, that wouldn't have been a crime here in Sweden. The law against bestiality disappeared more or less without anyone noticing it at the same time homosexuality was legalised. It would be nice to think that the English courts are standing firm against animal rape, but I'm fairly certain this will have been an indecent exposure or breach of the peace case.

A century ago in Sweden, bestiality was common in the country, since both sex before marriage and masturbation were highly discouraged, so horny young guys were limited in their choices. Notice the parallel here with present-day US. My guess would be that bestiality ought to be on the rise again in rural areas among those men who are not well socialised enough to negotiate sex.
