1. Do not come to me at 16:25 with things for me to do, especially if you can't clearly explain them. And do not get annoyed with me for saying "I'm confused, can we look at this again in the morning."

2. I am not tech support. It's not in my job description. I don't get paid to do it.

3. I am not your administrative assistant-making photocopies and sending faxes for you is not my job. Even more so, it's not my job just because you don't know how to do it.

4. If your hours are 9 to 5, work those hours...don't leave at 4:30 just because no one else is here, and then complain that you worked so late....

Dude.

My big boss can't open attachments.
She can't possibly print a document longer than three pages because it "takes too long on my printer."
She refuses to learn how to switch printer connections so she can print to the group laser.
She's lost her task bar and search for it for an hour.
"What's a zip file?"
"How can we run Access and Visual Basic together?"
"Please send this fax." 12 pages, double sided with various staples....

Perpetually short supply. The problem is, people who know how to do things, do them. People who don't know how to do them never seem to learn. Solving an occasional technical problem (I lost a file, can you help me find it) would be reasonable. Three or four calls like that in a day, not so.


And you, lcohen can come to me anytime with things to do, so long as you can explain them, and so long as when I ask a question to clarify that what I think you want is in fact what you want you don't say no when the answer really is yes.
