The birthday that I moved back to Wisconsin was hard (25 in 1999) because my entire life had recently changed ( from work to school, from relationship to single, from VA to WI ) and I really felt like I had no idea who I was but was pressing on anyway.
30 was a big change because I was finally 'not' the youngest or one of the younger person/s at most gatherings be they office or other. This year feels a little weird because the '31' is a reminder that it just doesn't stop. I think once you leave your 20's, it begins to hit you that you had a lot of goals when you were younger that you may not reach by 30 or even ever.
Of course, you also realize that being older has tons of advantages and that you wouldn't go back to being 20 for any reason! (but that's another post entirely)
