This Ketubah witnesses before G-d, friends and family, that on the first day of the week, the fifth day of the month of Sivan in the year 5765, corresponding to the twelfth day of the month of June in the year 2005, the Holy Covenant of Marriage was entered into at Centerport, New York between the bride,

The rings we exchange symbolize our commitment as beloveds and friends. Together under the chuppah, we promise that we will treasure, honor, respect and nurture one another.
We promise to love and honor one another as the unique individuals we are and to remain kind and considerate of each other when we disagree. We will care for each other through difficult times, and share our joys and sorrows. We pledge to nurture each other and our relationship as we continue to grow.
We dedicate ourselves to creating a loving home devoted to learning, compassion and respect for all people and the world around us. We will build a home shaped by our respective heritages and observing the traditions of Moses and the People Israel.
All this we promise before G-d, our friends and families. Let us join hands and lives to create a world filled with love and peace.
(Background...my initials, before I got married were EGG. My mother didn't know this until I was in second grade when my teacher wrote them on the cubby, because Elizabeth Graf was EG already, and my name came after hers. This was mildly traumatic, though I could either decide to laugh about it, which I did or get upset. My sister was terrified I'd be mad at her about the toast, but I thought it was hysterical.)
Our parents had a little girl
Erika Gale, they said
But little did they know then
She was not just a child, but an EGG
Years went by, the child grew
But nobody had realized
That is until the second grade
when Erika was traumatized.
A cubby wall for school supplies
Bore everyone's initials
And that's when classmates learned the truth
An EGG was storing her essentials.
With love and comfort Mom did swear
A wedding would would come with whomever
And Erika could fear no more
An EGG she'd not be forever.
Then Andrew came into her life
True love here did exist
But one problem sat between the two
His last name is Grabish.
A proposal came and was accepted
And planning did commence
And Erika resigned herself
To a lifetime EGG reference
Family and friends have come today
Some from Lake Winnipeg
To celebrate the marriage of
Andrew and my sister, EGG
With all of my heart
I send good health and best wishes
A lifetime of happiness
And no fights over dishes
It starts today, right here, right now
A true partnership begins
May love and laughter fill your days
And should yo always remain best friend
