Does anyone actually care that Lance Bass is gay?
I got dental floss caught in my mouth in a rather uncomfortable way. I'm not exactly sure how it got twisted the way it did, but it was scary.
Last night, we were eating something that had some artificial red coloring. Say what you will about artificial colors, but we have them sometimes. So, I'm eating this thing with the red coloring, and for some reason, there's a particular red dye (and I have no idea which one it is) that tastes unpleasant to me. It's been that way for a long time, and may be the reason that most artificially flavored cherry or strawberry things aren't appealing to me. In fact, I commented to Cayne last night that it was the reason that I wouldn't eat red M&Ms as a small child-they didn't taste right. But, he understood the whole red dye tastes weird thing, even though it apparently doesn't to him.
We spent a lot of time tonight trying to figure out what the plans for the new Wekiva Parkway are, and how close it will come to our house. It looks like it will be far enough away as to not be a noise issue for us, but still within a few kilometers of the house. We missed the community meeting about it tonight, but I think we'll try and head up to the one in Lake County (a bit northwest of where our house is) next Tuesday and find out what the plans actually say.
Cayne snores a lot. It happens that the couch shares a wall with where he's sleeping right now, though in the new house I can just imagine the cavernous living room bouncing around the noise, too. And I wish he snored less, or would do something about it. He won't until he's ready, no matter how I feel (which sounds really insensitive, but it's true) but I've set a limit of "before we have a child." The other part of this is that I know he doesn't get good sleep at night, and while that's annoying and not so good for him now, when we move and he has a longer commute, it's going to become a significant concern for me. The man can fall asleep at the drop of a hat, anywhere, anytime, under any conditions. And my worry (and yes, he knows this) is that one day, he'll manage to doze off while he's driving, and hurt himself or someone else. I suspect I'd find the noise of a CPAP machine easier to sleep with than the snoring.
But there are little things I love. I love the excited noise Cayne makes when I suggest something he's into. I love sitting with him on Saturday or Sunday, and making a menu for the week.
It's hot here. Too hot to do things. I'll perhaps post photos from last weekend tomorrow, and do laundry. I think now, though, I need to just get away from Cayne's noise.

Date: 2006-07-27 05:28 pm (UTC)I'm trying to find the balance between "I'm concerned" and the kind of nagging that turns someone off from taking action. It's difficult, and I'm hoping that perhaps moving and the longer commute will help encourage him to do something...he'll be getting up earlier, and having a much longer, too far to walk, commute, and will, perhaps feel the effects more.
It does, in a small sense, bother me that he seems so unconcerned with how his snoring affects me-namely that it's bad enough that I can't sleep in the same room. I have difficulty falling asleep to begin with, and sharing a room with him simply makes that worse.

(Hi, I'm wishy-washy! ;)

Date: 2006-07-27 04:18 pm (UTC)That was my thought exactly. I mean, good for you, but get over yourself.
My mom's husband has sleep apnea, and he uses a cpap. The new one they have now isn't too bad noise wise. It's more of a steady hum, where as the other was a poofing and grinding. I had it really bad as a child, but it has slowed down a lot. It's horrible to wake up gasping, or to have someone else wake you up freaking out because you weren't breathing.
