Are there any other French speakers on my f'list who also use IM, who would be willing to chat in French? My reading comprehension is decent, zedrikcayne pointed out that I managed the sign at Niagara Falls with historical information pretty well, and that I do okay with the jokes that his Mom sends (though I miss some of that because I'm till not fantastic with some of the idioms...literal translation doesn't always work.) I'm stuck in the "think in English, translate to French" phase again. I'm trying though.

Je ne parles pas tres bien. I'm also lazy, so I'm not inclined to hunt for accents on my keyboard, either. But, I'm a pleasant (mostly) conversationalist, if you're willing.

god, i wish. a dozen years of formal education and the only response i can come up to this is "uh, je parle un petit peu, tres mal". je suis stupide.

David speaks fairly good French. His AIM is Cavuto, and his Yahoo im is djcavuto. He said he would be happy to try french chat!

I lived in France for three months with a French family, and though it's been about ten years or so since, I do still love speaking French. It's more Parisian though. If you can ever catch me on AIM I'd be happy to 'speak' a bit.

I know your schedule is usually jam packed. If you wanted to e-mail to keep up your skills (because who wouldn't benefit from a doctor who was bilingual) we could do that.
