Does anyone have a copy of Hale's or another really good resource for pregnancy, breastfeeding and US available meds? I have a question that I've yet to ascertain a definitive answer to, and I might as well put it into the notes for my April doctor's appointment if I can find an answer.

It is an L3, according to Hales. He says that there are no good studies on it, but reccomends Imitrex (sumatriptan), as there are studies on that and he feels comfortable with a pregnant and/or nursing mom taking it.

I have a copy. It's not the newest one (which I need to buy). Whatcha need?

There's also a website: http://neonatal.ttuhsc.edu/lact/
I liked http://www.safefetus.com/ for the most part, though it's a little conservative sometimes.

There was another one I used a lot but I'm having trouble finding it right now - I'll let you know when/if I do.

I'll see what I can find for you. I'll tell you up front that I'm biased against SSRIs during pregnancy, but I'll definitely see what I can find when I've got a little time.

i would join [livejournal.com profile] breastfeeding and ask. they're usually really quick with hale replies.

you can also check his message board at: http://neonatal.ama.ttuhsc.edu/cgi-bin/discus/discus.cgi?pg=topics&access=guest

I second the community suggestions. Do keep in mind though that safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding are different animals, so be sure you specify that it's pregnancy you're asking about.

Others answered your question-don't forget That I unfortunately had to become an expert on managing asthma in pregnancy, so if that pops up, let me know. But hopefully you'll be in the lucky 1/3rd whose asthma gets better.

no problem. it might be worth it to follow up sooner rather than later, yeah - you might be able to find out if it'll work for you before you're stuck (pregnant and with a migraine, with meds that don't cut it sounds unfun to me).
