Anon posting on, IP logging off for a little while...

What don't you talk about? Drugs? Abortion? Guns? Repubicans? Vegeterians? Peer pressure? Why not? Is there anything you want to say about the topic that you wouldn't want your friends to know you were saying? Here's a chance to say it?

I definitely don't talk about guns. My views on guns are extremely unpopular with the gun nut crowd and the anti gun crowd, and incomprehensible to the middle ground people.

There are a lot of things I don't talk about in my journal about relationships because of audience. (well, sometimes on filters, but not eften even then)

Economics. see guns. There is almost NO room for abundance based economic views in public yet. (Hell, I can't even convince people that money value is a fiction)

I would think we could talk about the subjects without being for or against. After all, the Don's Guns Commercials (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynCsFZ3AS3E) managed to offend a lot of people, regardless of their feelings about guns. Don is still around and recently moved into a new home. He has already managed to offend his new neighbors, something about his putting a large block of stone engraved with the first and second amendments in his front yard.

I don't talk about how I feel about politics in Israel, how I feel deep down about abortion or whether there's such thing about sexism against men, and how I think the lines in what some might call fandom and/or alternative societies between "alternative" and "maybe you just need a better therapist" can get blurry.

Generally, I try to avoid talking too much about religion. It's a topic that's been more difficult to avoid as time goes on, but when I talk about how I truly feel about the "moral majority", I end up stepping on toes or offending at least one person in my company.

I talk very little about the actual state of my relationship.

I don't choose to talk about my relationship on here much either (echoing an earlier poster). That's a personal choice.

I don't particularly enjoy the discussions that come up when I illustrate my views on anxiety medications and my opinions on our overmedicated society, and how I feel people generally use medications to escape their problems rather than dealing with them head-on without using a pill to sidestep them. You can see how that usually ends up alienating quite a few people on my FL, so I typically keep those thoughts to myself because it isn't worth it turning my journal into some battleground. They're not going to change my mind on this, and I don't care to change their mind either, so what's the point? And also, since many folks who are on medication do believe it does them some good (and I admit I have no medical evidence to the contrary, though I wonder about the placebo effect) I don't particularly enjoy hurting their feelings just so I can prattle on about my personal opinions. I'm comfortable with them but I don't need to proselytize either.

I don't advertise it, but I'm firmly against all illegal drug usage with the only exception being medical marijuana. That's grounded in my own upbringing and my background in criminal justice.

Interesting question. I'm sure there's more I refrain from discussing, but those are the main ones.
