What don't you talk about? Drugs? Abortion? Guns? Repubicans? Vegeterians? Peer pressure? Why not? Is there anything you want to say about the topic that you wouldn't want your friends to know you were saying? Here's a chance to say it?

Economics. see guns. There is almost NO room for abundance based economic views in public yet. (Hell, I can't even convince people that money value is a fiction)

Date: 2007-03-13 01:06 am (UTC)I don't particularly enjoy the discussions that come up when I illustrate my views on anxiety medications and my opinions on our overmedicated society, and how I feel people generally use medications to escape their problems rather than dealing with them head-on without using a pill to sidestep them. You can see how that usually ends up alienating quite a few people on my FL, so I typically keep those thoughts to myself because it isn't worth it turning my journal into some battleground. They're not going to change my mind on this, and I don't care to change their mind either, so what's the point? And also, since many folks who are on medication do believe it does them some good (and I admit I have no medical evidence to the contrary, though I wonder about the placebo effect) I don't particularly enjoy hurting their feelings just so I can prattle on about my personal opinions. I'm comfortable with them but I don't need to proselytize either.
I don't advertise it, but I'm firmly against all illegal drug usage with the only exception being medical marijuana. That's grounded in my own upbringing and my background in criminal justice.
Interesting question. I'm sure there's more I refrain from discussing, but those are the main ones.
