I ran into someone in a community, recently, who has three kids, just turned 20, and she's specifically not telling her babies' bio-daddies about them, so she doesn't have to share legal rights, decision-making, etc. She's the only one. And she tries to get pregnant, it's a very happy thing for her.

I just had to close her LJ and walk away, I couldn't sit there with it open. It made my brain go numb.

It would upset me, too. I have two daughters born before I was twenty. And that still doesn't negate the fact that children have the right to know their parents.

As for the quote . . . while I understand the harshness of trying to conceive and the feelings of alienation associated with it (I'm a former fertility patient), the amount of shit teenaged mothers get for being pregnant is insane. The amount of bias the kids of gay parents get is insane. I don't know about how people react to elderly parents. So no one else gets off easy, either.

I recall reading something similar recetly, and it just infurated me. But then, I'm very touchy about most things related to pregnancy and getting pregnant these days.

I'm so tired of crossing my fingers and hoping, each time the anticipated date of my period rolls around. I'm starting to call around to price Clomid though, and see who has the best price, since we decided that if we're going that route we'd pay out of pocket for it, rather than using benefits. Save that for the more expensive drugs later.

Clomid cost me < $30 for one cycle. This was in 1999, but still. Since there's generic clomiphene citrate, it's not too pricey.

$24 at Walgreens. Haven't called elsewhere yet, I had to refill prescriptions anyway there yesterday so I asked. It's not just about the price, it's about accepting that Clomid probably isn't going to help at this point (we're battling male factor issues on top of my own mostly treated and well controlled issues.) It's hard to not feel defeated at each step.
