Make it Last

While I, like many people on my f'list got a hold of the latest Harry Potter book as soon as I could (somewhere around 2 AM, because we went out for a long and leisurely late supper and got to the bookstore at about 11:30) I'm not feeling the same drive to rush through reading it as I have with previous books. Perhaps because it's the last one, or perhaps because the story is so different from the others I'm trying to savor it, to soak it in and make it last. I read one chapter last night when we got home, before I went to sleep. I read one chapter this morning before breakfast. I read another later on, and one more as a break from other things.

I'll finish the book, but slowly, in small bites.

I'm with you. I got the book today, but I haven't been able to bring myself to start it yet. And regardless with my schedule, it's going to be a slow read. I intend to enjoy it.

I am doing the same thing! Although I did want to try to take a nap, but had to pull out the book while I was lying there, which of course, lead to no nap!

Z did that with the last book and he didn't like it. So he got it last night, read a little before going to sleep, and started reading for real at about 8am. He just finished before 4pm. It will take me longer, because I am a really slow reader. But I have 8 hours of plane travel tomorrow, so I am a pretty captive audience.

I'm a fast reader, so that's not the issue. 8 hours of plane travel with Harry Potter though seems like a good plan.

I might be in FL after Thanksgiving for a meeting, but I can't remember where it is. Once I hunt up the e-mail I will tell you where it is.

I was trying to rush through to avoid being spoiled, with the intention of going back and reading more slowly later, but I kept getting interrupted by the need to fool around with the cute girl.
