I really need to order the car seat.

I have other things I've gotten together-the pack n play, for example, some blankets, that sort of thing. I need to figure out the co-sleeper situation, and stuff.

But I haven't ordered the car seat. And I can't bring myself to do it.

I'm too scared that something bad will happen.

Co-sleeper. Mine is still available. We still do not know for sure if my mom is coming up for Passover because it depends on her end of March test results. And while my trip down there is booked, that is not until July 22.

Carseat - if you knw what you want there is no reason you need to order it. I got my carseat the day froggy was discharged. Someone can go pick it up for you while you are in the hospital if that makes you feel better. the question is what is more important to you - having it checked by a professional before baby's first ride or not jinxing yourself by purchasing it too early.

I wondered if this was why you'd not ordered it. :)

The realist in me has to say, go ahead and get it, y'all will be fine. *hugs*

Yeah, that old not wanting to tempt the evil eye thing. I understand

You figure out ways to trick the evil eye that your psyche will accept. I was just holding onto the car seat for a friend you see...

As far as the growing worry...welcome to motherhood. I'm afraid you are about to be worried for the rest of your life in ways you never imagined. It's part of the process, and you'll get used to it. It's that maternal eye growing in the back of your head.

I don't see anything wrong with waiting on the car seat. Worst comes to worst, you can buy a perfectly acceptable infant car seat at Target after the birth for under $100, and then sell it when the one you ordered (I'm assuming it's something you can't get locally) gets here.

Do you have any friends who could do it for you?

Nope, sorry. Palo Alto is far enough away that I'm not really familiar with it at all.
