At 2:38 this morning, after 34 and a half hours of labor, Naomi Channah joined our family. My sister has already nicknamed her "Nacho" or "Nachita"
Her stats...
20 inches long, 7 pounds 3 oz, head circumference of 12 and a half inches (my apologies to metric lovers...I'm a bit brain dead to post the metric stats-too much brain for me at the moment-if anyone feels like posting them in the comments, please do.) APGAR scores of 8 and 9.
Birth story forthcoming-I need more time to get it posted.
Nursing is a bit challenging, but we're working on it. I've et with the hospital lactation people, and I'll meet with the lactation consultant who is part of our pediatrician's practice on Monday afternoon.
We're still in the hospital, mostly as a precaution-my doctor said he'd prefer we stayed 24 hours, but we could have gone home today.
Pictures forthcoming-
whitebird if you have them at the ready please go ahead and post the link in the comments...I'll get more posted later on.
Thank you to everyone for your prayers, well wishes, good thoughts and support. Now we move on to the next phase....figuring out parenthood.

Date: 2008-04-19 01:00 am (UTC)Welcome Naomi! What a beautiful name!!!
Glad that you are both well.
The nursing thing can take a bit but you'll get there. I remember those first weeks were rough. We were back to the lactation people several times. Then we got going.
