Naomi, shortly after birth.

Dressed to go home. Even newborn clothes are big on her at the moment. I put the bow on, took the picture and then took it off.

A father-daughter portrait

Side by side with the kitty.

Widget and Gizmo get a good look.

At a week old, posed with her stuffed elephant.

Dressed up to celebrate Daddy's birthday.

More birthday celebration.

Date: 2008-04-28 10:59 pm (UTC)My Mom relayed a story from a friend of hers (someone whose children I grew up with)-one of the children had a baby a while ago, and they took a photo each week of the baby with the same stuffed animal, so that after the first year they had a whole series of photos with the same animal and you could see how the baby grew. We picked the elephant because that's kind of special to her Dad and me- after the whole "You're my elephant" incident we made the stuffed elephant for her to have, and one day we'll tell her the story of why she has so many elephants, including a new blanket that Dad insisted on even though we had no need for it.

Date: 2008-04-29 03:42 pm (UTC)when we had chase he *finally* understood the rationale behind opening family gifts on christmas eve & letting santa bring everything on christmas day. his family only celebrated christmas day, and my family basically celebrated christmas starting the day after thanksgiving! :)

Date: 2008-04-29 12:01 am (UTC)I think the last picture is the one where the similarity between Dad and daughter really shines. What a fun photo—I'm still giggling.
