Jun. 6th, 2008 06:25 pmNo wonder I feel kind of "meh." My thyroid is almost back up to where it was when we started treating it. Now technically this is "within normal range" but at the same time, I'm "within normal limits" and symptomatic, thus the decision to treat in the first place.
My endocrinologist wanted to see me at about 12 weeks postpartum, so I have an appointment with her. But with the milk issues, and just not feeling right, I had said something when I was at the lactation consultant, and being as awesome as she is, Pat mentioned a place that will do certain labs if you pay out of pocket. So we took a ride over there last weekend (before we went to watch the Space Shuttle launch) I paid my $40 and had my T3, T4 and TSH tested. Got the results in the mail today (didn't want to drive all the way over there during the week-it's not close by) and no surprise. I'll call the endocrinologist next week and/or take the results to the OB and see if someone will up my dose, which may help a little with milk supply issues.
It's a bit hard to be clear on the symptoms though...they're so similar to pregnancy/postpartum stuff.
This weekend is shaping up to be busy...Fill a Bag at Children's Orchard, some errands, a photography session with the baby, and housecleaning. My Mom and Dad are coming in on Friday afternoon, so I want to get the house mostly in order so that we have to do things like mop floors on Wednesday or Thursday. Probably Wednesday cause Thursday is our anniversary, and we'd like to do something. No idea about anniversary gifts...neither of us really wants anything-there's a bracelet that Cayne wants to get for me, but he knows I think it's too expensive. I think maybe we'll take the money we'd spend on anniversary gifts and put it towards the kitchen renovation...maybe it'll cover all or part of one of the "want" projects like moving the sink over.
