I sincerely hope the unbearable misery I feel at the moment is just PMS a few days early. And not something else like how much I suddenly miss having roosterbear here.

On a positive note...a work story...

Our new substance abuse counselor had his first presentation last night. I asked for a senior staff member to go along, and A. went with me. So he and I spent some time "processing" this event last night, and A. said something about how even though he'd never seen me present, he thought that I was probably "crazy enough" to really engage my groups and that S. (my direct boss) had said to him how she could go into one of my sites and know the kids "loved" me.

That kind of made my day.

Nothing like meaning validation from co-workers and Superiors. Save that stuff for when you want a raise ;)

You better believe it. Annual review is mid-December and I've worked my butt off this year. (Really, truly, it's smaller than it was a year ago.) I'm not sure how much there's going to be, since it's a grant funded position, but every little bit helps.

The best part...I don't hear these things directly, I hear them from people above the people saying them. Which means the higher-ups hear them.
