Nook or Kindle? Which would you choose? Why?

I know there are other eReaders out there, but for reasons that aren't relevant to this discussion, Cayne would prefer I bought one of those two.

The version of 1984 that Amazon was selling was an illegally made ebook, and when this was pointed out to them, they pulled ALL copies. There is no legal ebook version of 1984, to my knowledge.

Not saying that what they did was right, but that was WHY they did it.

right. also, Amazon apologized profusely for letting that happen (selling an illegal version) and offered to make it VERY right, including free copies of other versions, or full refunds.

there's no reason to believe that apple, B&N, or any book provider where there is a store, and DRM, can't revoke permissions later.

people who actively backed their stuff up, still have their 1984, *and* a tasty refund :)
