Nook or Kindle? Which would you choose? Why?

I know there are other eReaders out there, but for reasons that aren't relevant to this discussion, Cayne would prefer I bought one of those two.

There's a Kindle app for my phone (Droid) but it's so small that it would drive me nuts.

I read a lot but have very limited library time that doesn't involve small children, so I'd like to be able to purchase less expensively and more easily and not have to store books, though I tend to clear out and donate stuff periodically. I also want it for travel-fewer things to pack/carry/keep track of if I'm not carrying books.

The Kindle would definitely work for that. The phone app is really convenient if you are out and about and see a book you'd like to read later - you fire up the app and download a sample (you can even send it to the Kindle to be downloaded the next time it connects). Every time I start up my Kindle and turn on the wireless, I get a flurry of samples that I had previously decided looked interesting.
