Naomi wrote a letter to President Obama...

Here's the whole story:
I enforce "quiet time" in the afternoon for everyone-Naomi feels better in the evening when we do it, I am more sane and Miriam usually takes a nap. So today, Naomi decided to spend quiet time in her room doing some drawing. She emerged from her room with a stack of drawings in her hand, and said to me, "Mama! I drew a picture of Barack Obama! He's voting!" I thought that was pretty cool, so I said to her, "That's really neat! Would you like to send it to him? We can write a letter to go with it." So she dictated a letter and I transcribed it:
Dear President Barack Obama,
My name is Naomi Grabish. I am 4 years old. My Mom is helping me write this letter.
I drew a picture of you voting. I hope you use your imagination to make things good for everyone. When I grow up and I am president I will make more playtime, more bubble baths and more macaroni and cheese.
Please write me back. My address is:
(our address)
Love,
Naomi Grabish

Date: 2013-02-05 04:40 am (UTC)The sentiments in the letter are all hers-I asked a couple of questions to get them out (What's he doing in the picture, what do you think he needs to do to help people, what would you do if you were president, would you like him to write back to you) but she came up with everything else. I was blown away-I can't wait to see if we get a response. I know she'll be excited by a form letter, but I know sometimes kids get other things back, and I'm excited to see if we do.
