Had a lovely Valentine's Day. Hard to believe how different life was 10 years ago when Andrew accidentally asked me to marry him.

It was an accident. We were spooning and talking about something vaguely related but at that point totally hypothetical. And out of his mouth comes, "Well I guess we should get married then." And I gave him about 10 chances to back out of it, or change his mind, and made sure to absolutely confirm that he actually meant what he said. He thought about it for a moment and decided he did mean it. And we'll celebrate our tenth anniversary next year.

He had given no thought to marriage, and neither had I. Despite a few casual hookups over the seven years we'd known each other, we'd only actually been involved for three and a half months. It kind of fell out of his mouth in a completely spontaneous way. I'm glad eh did though.
