It was remarkably dumb to make my MRI appointment for 10 PM, when no one would be able to go with me. It's stressful to go get medical stuff done. And I should have done this in a way that someone could have gone with me.

I'm trying to convince myself that nothing at all is wrong and everything is fine and that I'm not scared.

Trying very very hard.

10pm? Wow. Didn't know one could do anything that time of night.
I don't know what you're afraid is wrong, but *hugs* in any case.

Uh, if you have a chance look at my most recent journal post.

I don't know if this will be any help at all, but I've had two MRI scans done, both on my back, and of all the procedures I've had done, it was about the least unpleasant. All you need to be able to do is to lie quite still for ten minutes or so. You'll have headphones and a mike, so that you can talk with the operator if needed, and (probably) music to listen to (they may even let you bring a favourite CD along).

Yes, being inside a tube that makes loud clicking and bonging noises isn't my idea of fun, but it's not horrible at all.

MRI's are the easiest medical procedure ever - as long as you bring your own music so that you don't have to listen to the weird stuff they have in the office. You close your eyes, lie still for a while, and take a nap. The only issue is if you're _extremely_ claustrophobic. There are no drugs, no injections, no pain at all. Just lie down and kill time. The biggest stresses are having to take out all your nearby piercings (i.e. I didn't have to take out my navel ring when they MRI'd my knee) and having to lie still - but they generally pad you for that one.

10PM? Are you going to Dr. Nick's All-Nite MRI Clinic or something?
