California Here I Come

So...here's the deal.

It looks like the California Trip is on. I don't have any exact details yet or anything, but we'll drive cross country, and I'm going to try and arrange to go up to the Bay Area for a couple of days after we arrive in LA. That would land me up there around Labor Day. There are a ton of people to see if/when I do get to the Bay. I've probably got crash space arranged in Berkeley (Charles Haynes has offered space.) I may ask someone who is more familiar with the area to try and arrange a Foo or something so I can see/meet lots of people all at once.

Course details are still pending. Anything I need to know in order to make these plans?

I didn't know that Charles had moved to Berkeley... thought he was in SF. But SF and Berzerkeley are close enough together...

I may be wrong-he may still be in SF. Either way, I may (or may not) be crashing with him; we spoke briefly about it last night.

And there is absolutely, positively no way that I'd be out that way and not see you. In fact, roosterbear and I were talking earlier and I was saying how much I missed you. I'm always kind of bummed that I didn't get to know you better when we weren't on opposite sides of the country, even more so now that I've gotten to know you better through your livejournal.

(In my dreams, I'd find a graduate program out in that area to go and do my PhD...)

But yay! I am looking forward to seeing you. (and you should keep me posted on your visits to New York; if they coincide with mine, perhaps I'd see you then)

When plans and dates for travel in general are more certain, I'll ask Bay Area friends to put their heads together to plan something.
