And it's even grosser in (my beautiful wool and courderoy) costume. From the moment I start changing at 8 AM until the moment I strip at 7:15 I am dripping (literally) sweat from every pore of my body. I have never felt so sustainedly disgusting for such long periods in my life. Someone with more influence with the weather gods than I needs to have a little chat.
Well, most renfaire garb is at least loosely based on English fashion. And (this summer excepted... it's supposed to break 100 there today!!!) generally their weather is NOT like ours.
No, their weather isn't quite like ours, but their lifestyle probably was more physically active than ours. I can't imagine doing gardening in less warm weather, in wool and courdoroy.
Hmmm suze and I haven't run the whole house a/c yet this summer.
This past weekend I spent several hours at a stretch in heavy coveralls, and leather gloves/torso protection (I was welding)... I think I understand just how 'bad' it can be.
Tho it is better than last summer when I took my haz-mat tech course. Hell hath no heat like 95 degrees for 30 min inside a tyvek coverall, while breathing via SCBA.
Sadly, I'm the "always cold" type. My office feels like the arctic circle most days...at Friday's team meeting when I excused myself to get a sweater, in unison I got "You're cold?"

But it is indeed weird when it's not hot but its so humid it's unbearable anyway. Like yesterday.
