LAURAL, MD (June 28, 2003) An African-American lesbian athlete was
arrested today in a local TGIFriday's restaurant after using the women's room. The woman is a nose-guard for the local professional women's football team, the DC Divas.
According to T.K. (name withheld at attorney's request), as she entered the restroom, another patron remarked, "This is the women's room." The football player replied, "I know it is."
When she emerged from the bathroom she was confronted by a TGIFriday's employee and a uniformed Laurel policeman who was soon joined by another.
While she reportedly offered several times to show identification,
officers declined to examine her photo identification or determine her sex.
Shortly thereafter, T.K. says officers forced her to the ground with her arm twisted behind her back, handcuffed her, and placed her under arrest.
She was charged with disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace. A court date has been set.

Thing is, something about this doesn't ring true. Maybe I misjudge Laurel's size, but that seems awful fast to procure policemen. Something's left out here.
