I would really really like to know if my office is open or not today. They haven't cleared stairs or sidewalks or plowed here yet. The school district that my office is located in is closed, but the county government is on liberal leave. I have no all staff voicemail, which isn't surprising-our all staff voicemail system is weird, and doesn't always work right-there are a number of us who don't get the voicemails. And I managed to leave my staff phone numbers in the office. I called one co-worker, who didn't answer his cell phone. I'll try another shortly.

I'm not sure I could get out safely even if we are open though.

Snow day snow day snow day snow day snow day!

(My boss just called to let me know. Sometimes she calls, sometimes she doesn't, and since I don't get our all staff voicemails, it's hard to know if we're open, closed or delayed.)

Course it doesn't help that I've been up since 5 AM, because my ear hurt and my wrist hurt...

That five questions/shower interview meme thing...there are people who apparently didn't get to do it the last time it went around, so I'm going to do a couple more now. If you've got another five questions that you didn't ask me last time, I'll do it again for you. I'll probably do it the same way I did last time to spare the friends pages the frequent updates-that is, combine it into one or two excessively long, really well cut posts.

The rules (in case you missed it, or need reminding)

THE RULES:
1 - Leave a comment, saying you want to be interviewed.
2 - I will respond; I'll ask you five questions.
3 - You'll update your journal with my five questions, and your five answers.
4 - You'll include this explanation.
5 - You'll ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed

Someone made me a very happy girl on my snowday by providing an ending to my dream when I woke up before the good parts.

That person would do good to nudge me on AIM later on.

I'm incredibly happy with how dinner turned out tonight. I tossed some chicken, and veggies and pinapple together with a yummy sauce. I'm fairy certain it would work well with tofu, if you're a tofu eating type. (I'm not; I like it, if well prepared, but it tends to overwhelm me with soy.)

So [livejournal.com profile] aquariumgirl and I had a conversation about food craving when we were on our way back from Boston. I'm an "ignore it, it'll eventually go away" type. Most of the time. (The exceptions being PMS related food cravings-I tend to have very strong emotional reactions when I have PMS and ignoring food cravings makes them worse, veggies or fruit, and salty snacks-which usually mean that I'm getting a cold.) I'm prone to ignoring food cravings-I had one today for pasta, and I could have tossed some fresh pasta into the pan while I cooked dinner, but didn't. I'm not feeling like I missed the pasta, but I'm not sure that doesn't mean that tomorrow, I'll wake up with a raging carb craving. What are some of the strategies other people use for dealing with cravings? Why do you find them effective.

In other less exciting news, I've accumulated quite a list of things that are difficult to do with one hand not working up to par. And they're getting quite frustrating. Raar.
