it took seven nights, but Beta had to get into the candles at least once. He's fine, just a few singed whiskers this time. Maybe he's gotten smarter since last winter?

Although he did climb into the microwave when I opened it to heat something earlier today.

Bahaha... Do his wickies smell singed?

For some reason, our kitties have not had the inclination to hop up on our cabinet where we keep the TV. Its about 4.5 feet tall and clearly within jumping range. Thus it is where we keep any burning objects, including the menorah.

My TV is on top of a cabinet that has shelves, with the cable box, dvd player and vcr. Beta likes to climb into it when I leave the doors open. He can't stand up on the shelves though, so he flattens himself down and slides in.

And yes, he smells a bit singed. I put the menorah in the kitchen sink because I worry that he'll knock it over. He's sitting behind me trying to look cute.

Wow, your cat is none too bright! My kitten is pretty stupid but so far she hasn't found the microwave. When she does, I'm sure we'll have to worry about it.

I had opened it to nuke some pasta for lunch and he leapt in. I had to chase him out so I could heat my stuff up. We'll see if he does it again.

This is why G-d made pets so cute. That way you don't strangle them when they are stupid or silly. And Beta has got to take the cake for cute

And when they eat your stuff that you don't want them to eat. And when they throw it up on the carpet. And when they need you in the middle of the night.

And then they come to you and purr, or lick you, or show their love in the way that only pets can. And you have to forgive every silly or irritating thing they ever do.

Did he at least notice? Piruli has so much fur, he doesn't even notice when he sets his tail on fire.

Thankfully, he didn't get his tail. Just a few singed whiskers.

Last year, the vet bill wasn't cheap when he torched his tail.
