Tums have become one of my best friends again. I don't remember the last time I haven't taken at least one dose...it's gotta be close to a month now. I had nasty reflux issues in college, and they've been mostly under control, except when major stress appears in my life. My life has undergone majorstress lately, and therefore, I'm chewing Tums again. (And just so [livejournal.com profile] rdhdsnippet knows-the fruity ones, not the minty ones.) And I'm not looking forward to prescription acid reducers or prilosec again. That was, shall we say, an unpleasant experience for the several years I was taking purple pills.

Unfortunately, reflux->asthma attacks. That's an irritating side effect. It'll get better when I get the prescriptions I ordered.

I slept last night! Fell asleep on the futon with a nasty headache at about 9:30, woke up a bit after 11, talked to [livejournal.com profile] zedrikcayne for a couple of minutes, cleaned up the dinner dishes and went to bed. Slept from about 11:30 til 3 AM, woke up, went back to sleep shortly after til a bit past six, woke up again, decided to go back to sleep and slept until about 7:15. If I could have gone back to bed and not to work, I would have. It's not always falling asleep that's the problem, more often than not, it's staying asleep.

I hate every dress on the David's Bridal website. This does not make me happy. I'm thinking maybe the first dress shopping trip should maybe happen the first weekend in April, if people are up for it? ([livejournal.com profile] aquariumgirl are you around then?)

I'll be out of town first weekend April, but am happy to come on later / earlier expeditions. Are all of the dresses they have also on the site?

You may also find some display copies of dresses in your price range in Non David's stores.

*wee rant*

i don't know why anyone concedes to wearing white.

why not a gunmetal silver something... anything... with some sort of depth and texture.

white just tends to accentuate the worst things.

lavendar and red... made for each other :)

this dress should personify *you* not *bride*

you are too unique, in my opinion, for any of david's dresses.

Uggg.

That reminds me of my cousin, who got married to a Christian girl who was the Daughter of a Preacher. My cousin, and his whole side of the family is Jewish.

I have NOTHING against mixed marriages but, the date they scheduled the ceremony for was in Major bad form.

When did they schedule it for you ask?
Yom Kippur.

No one from our side of the family showed. Most of us have not spoken to him since.

And David's Bridal Sucks. >:-D

Something along the lines of her parents were paying and this was a date they could get the church... and catering at a "discounted" price.

Really, I was amazed that he could marry into a family so insensitive to his.

You know, you could always go with a bridesmaid dress if the traditional wedding dresses leave you with an icky feeling...

I'm sorry I can't go dress shopping with you; I'm booked solid from now until after the honeymoon.

One of my friends showed me her wedding pictures. She got married in a prom dress that was at least as beaded and embroidered and lacy and beautiful as the other wedding dresses I've seen.*

I ran across a prom dress site yesterday, which seems to have the exact same dresses for bridesmaids and for prom. Unfortunately all of the "curvy" dresses are also sleeveless; I was rather amused by this one that comes in white with stars all over it. (my favorite, which I do think I could see you in, doesn't come in white)

Aha! I needed to be looking under Poufy! This one is white and has sleeves and a lace up bodice

*half smile* My favorites seem to come in dark colors only (1520 and 1880). But that's only one company's dresses!

*My friend had a long argument with the proprieter of the store, who didn't want to sell her said dress after finding out it was to be a wedding dress.

Random suggestion: If you are looking for something a little less traditional try a vintage store or website. I found some beautiful stuff. Of course they were all a size 2 but hey....it gave me some ideas.
