Apr. 16th, 2004 12:43 amIn reference to the train wreck comment...
that was not referring to me, my partners, or anyone on my friends list. There's someone I happen accross in a community I sometimes read and every time I read this person's posts the only thought I can come up with is "train wreck."
So, just so you all know, I am fine. Cayne is fine.
aquariumgirl is fine.

Date: 2004-04-16 01:30 pm (UTC)I wrote it and didn't even think twice that someone might wonder if it was about me personally; it didn't occur to me until I read

Date: 2004-04-16 02:05 pm (UTC)Well - mine is all big and huuuge now and no longer kittenish. But still!
Um - yes - that is all. :)

Date: 2004-04-16 02:31 pm (UTC)He hates having his claws trimmed and car rides, he loves to climb on Mom when she wants to sleep, he grudginly tolerates baths from the other cat, he likes tuna fish from the cans, medium sized furry toy mice in normal mouse colors, belly rubs and drinking from the bathtub faucet.
Did I just write a personal ad for my cat?

Date: 2004-04-16 03:16 pm (UTC)Actually...the Logan (my orange Kitty) is almost two as well...I got him in August of 2002.
Most of the orange cats I know are quite nice. Especially the boy ones. Logan's worst habit is his complete obsession with food. He has an eating disorder. ;)

Date: 2004-04-16 03:57 pm (UTC)Beta is very nice, just not all that bright. THree times in two years he's set himself on fire during chanukkah. Gets his head stuck in plastic containers too. People seem to adore Beta, and find him charming.

Date: 2004-04-16 05:14 pm (UTC)i'd love to meet Beta and see Oblivion again. and you have to come meet Nikki; she's very clever, but very silly sometimes. she forgot i fed her when i couldn't sleep this morning, so when i woke up the second time she started harassing me and ran to her food dish the minute i stood up, only to discover there was already food in it. i was amused.

Date: 2004-04-16 05:50 pm (UTC)Orange tabbies have a reputation for being very sweet, but not all that bright. Beta certainly fits the bill. He's also big; I didn't realize quite how large his paws were when he was a baby, but going back and looking at his baby pics, I can see what I missed. If I'd have paid more attention then, I might have realized the kind of monster he'd turn out to be. I've also met wonderful tuxedo cats, and I have a fondness for grey cats. Beta's two sisters were both grey tabbies (he looks just like his Mom down to the markings on his face.)
I would go in and be color blind at first. Look for a kitten who has a personality you like. Beta's brother, who I also considered was an orange and white cat, but he was much less friendly...when Beta was picked up, he curled into my arms, climbed onto my shoulder and sniffed at my neck. Ted, Beta's brother wasn't as human-centric. I wanted a cat who was going to be people-friendly. I certainly got one...even if he did try to hide under the bed when Cayne arrived last weekend. He'll have to get over that.
