Found a china pattern I liked, which Cayne also liked.
Hated all the silverware I looked at...will have to keep looking, or something.
Decided to stop at bridal store to check on colors of bridesmaids dresses. (I found a couple that I liked. Mom hates the idea of a "two color dress" and thinks the color I liked will probably be too dark. Whatever.)
[livejournal.com profile] aquariumgirl was mean! She made me actually try on a couple of dresses. I wasn't dressed to do that! Like, black bra and all. Did actually find a dress I liked, although I'd need to have sleeves added to it.

I had butterflies trying the dresses on. I did find one that I liked, although I'm not linking it here. If you wanna know which one it is, I'll e-mail you the url.

I was going to have sleeves sewn into mine, too. I think they can do it pretty easily. I like the idea of a two color dress! It sounds kind of pretty to me.

I like the idea of a two-tone dress.. do you have links to something similar for that as well?

Ok, personally I think that's a very cool bridesmaid dress choice - reminiscent of my favorite dress from any wedding I've attended. That dress wasn't one. It was a dressy suit that I could actually see the people in the wedding party being able to wear again. Understated, and yet elegant. Pretty. ANd I want the URL for the wedding dress!!!!!!!

The one laying accross the top is the set that we have. I LOVE it for feel, balance and useability as well as the way it looks.

Happy searching. Yes, I'd love to see the dress.

Is there anything you can put your finger on about the silverware we found at Ross-Simons that you don't like? I'd be happy to do some additional poking around.

I'm glad Cayne liked the china! Woohoo!

Regarding your mother's opinion of the two-color dress concept, it seems to me that one of the reasons why bridesmaids' dresses usually make the bridesmaids feel so uncomfortable is precisely because of their all-one-color styling. The only way I'm personally happy about wearing something that's all one color is if the fabric at least has some pattern/texture to it (like a brocade). Though of course, if a bride asked me to wear a dress in her wedding that was all one color of satin, I'd smile and wear it. After I tried politely to talk her out of it. :-)

And regarding the wedding dresses, I'm such a horrible, mean, awful person. :-)

I was at a wedding last weekend. The bridesmaids were in Navy blue. WOW! No matter their skin tone, they all looked good in that color. I had never thought about navy as a bridesmaid dress, but if you haven't considered it, you might.
