(no subject)

I started the last group yesterday. I'm not sad or sentimental about it yet. It's a site I enjoy working with, and it doesn't feel all that final. It's just there. But it's the last time I'll do this program, and I feel like there should be some emotion attached to it, since the program is kind of my baby...I wrote most of it, revised it, altered and adapted it, marketed it and helped it to grow and develop the reputation it currently has.

Trying not to get too weirded out by weird new co-worker. He's not in my department so that helps, but he has joined us at the lunch table. He has only one name. He's not Madonna or Prince or anything, so this whole one name thing just weirds me out. I mean, even Madonna probably signs her checks with a first and last name. Okay, so he just weirds me out.

So back to the first subject, sort of....this moving thing is approaching rather quickly. That means that:

1. There are things to do and people to see before I leave, and so there must be plans made to do that,

2. I need to start packing (see below for important details if you're a DC-Local or an NJ-Local

3. I'll probably try to recruit moving help on both ends when I know more details about the when and where.

DC Locals-I'm going to be seeking boxes soon. If you've got spare boxes let me know.

NJ Locals-Does anyone have spare attic/garage/bedroom/basement/storage type space that they can spare between late August and late October/early November? I'd like to get some of my things moved in bits as Cayne and I travel between our current locations. If you can store stuff for me, let me know. (I'll be in NJ the weekend of 8/28, and if I can wrangle space before then would like to leave some boxes of books/cds with someone.)

There's a room in our attic that you can use. One caveat: it's fairly smelly, so you probably don't want to store anything that's particularly susceptible to odors there.

Thank you! It's mostly books, tchochkes and the stuff that sits in my storage cage in the basement at the moment, so I'm sure that it will be fine.
