I've always been prone to incredibly dry skin on my feet.

Skin so dry that it would split and crack and bleed. When I wore sneakers in the summer, they were a bit better, but not much. I moisturize. I wear socks to bed. But they're still maddeningly dry. Painfully so, in that sometimes in the morning, I'll step out of bed and they'll be so dry they actually hurt.

Somehow, when I left for NJ last Friday, I had forgotten to pack lotion. Ooops. We got a bottle of lotion from the hotel on Friday night, but I decided I needed to go get some other stuff on Saturday. So we stopped at Drug Fair, and Cayne actually found this stuff that looked like it was recommended for the kind of feet I have...the pictures on the box were reminiscent of my feet. I've been using the stuff (which smells quite potently when you put it on) since Saturday night and can actually tell the difference. The cracking/splitting bits are starting to heal, the other dry parts are starting to soften. I can even tolerate the smell.

The problem? I wear sandals most of the time in the summer...that way I don't have to wear socks or hose. And the stuff makes the insides of my shoes oh-so-slimy. Slippery sliding feet.

I think it's worth the healing, stinking power of the stuff.

Hooray!

Would you be willing to wear, like, tabi socks for a while until your feet catch up with the healing?

Something that works for me, too, is Origins has this stuff called "Reinventing the Heel". so far it hasn't quite reinvented mine (also cracked and nasty) but it's doing a darn good job at repair. Smells good too.

Oh god, you said f**t. (See my interests for further explanation, right after "fark".)

I use Bag Balm on my feet, when I remember, and this is what I do to prevent slimy shoes - put it on at night and sleep with socks on, like you usually do. It'll help it to absorb and prevent slimy, smelly sheets, too.
