Oct. 6th, 2004 04:39 pmCalled the Bra Lady in Philly to get details. Need to decide when to make appointment for, so that bra is ready before dress fittings start. Good thing I like Philly. Must make at least one trip to Nifty Fifties when I'm there, cause I want their shakes.
Found Pepsi Edge in cans today. I like the stuff, it's got Splenda. It also has caffeine, which is why I will only drink it when I'm not working (thus getting to bed at a reasonable hour is less of an issue) and in limited quantities (hence cans or small bottles rather than two liter bottles.)
Hate the fact that gas prices have spiked again. I realize I pay less than people in many other parts of the world, but it still irritates me that I'm paying fifty or sixty cents more a gallon now than I was two years ago.
Packed more boxes. Hate packing.
Watched "Peter's Friends" today. I like that movie, although I had forgotten the whole big bisexual bit in the middle.
Tried to find a carpet rake at Lowe's today. Three different people looked at me like I was smoking funny cigarettes when I asked about one. The fourth had heard of it, but told me they don't sell them. I'll try Home Despot tomorrow or Friday (would have gone today, but after I stopped in the grocery store, I needed a bathroom more than another errand.) I could order one from a catalog, but I suspect shipping would be exhorbitatnt because the shape and size are odd.
I drink a lot of tea now that I'm home. This is yummy, but I kind of miss the electric tea kettle that Cayne's Mom has. Or the instant hot water tap that my parents have. I think one of those is a necessary acquisition.
Must either send plant home with Cayne or find a way to make the cats stop eating it. Either way, I'll have to find a solution to the cat chowing problem. Also would like to figure out why another plant is not doing well, although it may be getting too much light, so I'm going to try moving it. Then there's the giant green and pink plant that I can't figure out what it is, but it's doing well.
I need to buy extra icons tonight. I found one that I must have.
I should get to repotting and some other stuff.

Date: 2004-10-07 02:40 pm (UTC)It's actually the fact that you pay such a tiny amount of tax on your 'gas' that makes prices fluctuate so much. In Europe, such a high proportion of the cost of fuel is tax that changes in the price of crude oil make a much smaller percentage difference to the price at the pump.

Date: 2004-10-07 07:17 pm (UTC)If I drive about ten miles, gas usually runs about 15 cents cheaper....if I had reason to be down there, which isn't unthinkable, I'd fill up there.
