I threatened to knit Cayne a penis cozy after my knitting lesson tonight. But thanks to having so many knitters on my flist, when I went to buy needles last weekend for tonight's lesson, I chose bamboo. Ohmygoodnesshow nice. This week's assignment is to knit many rows. Next week, purling. After that, the world.

It came up when we were visiting with friends a while back that I wanted to try (yet again) to learn to knit. So our friend Patty offered, and she came over tonight to get me started. She said to go out and buy a pair of size 10 needles, and yarn, so when we went to A.C. Moore last weekend, they had no metal needles in the right size, so I bought a pair of plastic and a pair of bamboo. I really liked the way the bamboo felt, so I started with them tonight.

That said, if I remember how to cast on a week from now, it'll be amazing.

I really hate plastic needles. My favorite needles are English aluminum ones from my mother's collection that are only available via mail order in the US. Of course.
