Baby Watch 08, Day 5 (EDD+3)

No baby yet.

I've eaten about a half a kilo of pineapple and lots of basil and oregano. I'm a bit uncomfortable, and we may have hit the pre-labor clean out.

The wife of Cayne's colleague, whose was due a bit after me went into labor tonight. I'm a bit envious.

I'm going to soak in a bath cause I'm honestly actually kind of uncomfortable and stuff.

My yoga teacher is also a reflexologist and does some sort of reflexology induction technique to help some of her moms in her prenatal yoga class. Not that I know anything about all this pregnancy stuff... but a foot rub can't hurt!

I saw my chiro the day before I went into labor, and she was showing me reflexology.

Pinky toe. Right at the joint where it connects with your foot, on the outer edge. :)

Going to see if Cindy (my chiropractor) can get me in ASAP-the adjustment can't hurt, and there are some things she can do that can help things along.

There's a pressure point there and by your ankle both of which are supposed to trigger labor. I have the number of an accupuncturist to call too if things don't get moving soon.

You seemed to have such an easy and comfortable time with this pregnancy I was wondering if you were ever going to get to the uncomfortable stage. I wish you a easy and healthy labor. I have more clothes for the little one if it is a girl.

I've had a very comfortable pregnancy and it's been a real blessing. And it's also been very easy, which I was uncomfortable last night with some irregular but strong contractions which unfortunately didn't turn into anything more-I was kind of hoping for it. I'm really hoping for this weekend-the midwife and doctor I like are both on call. There's been very little delving into real pain and a lot more of what I'd call "discomfort." I do believe strongly that having a positive attitude has helped make things easy-I could have had a lot worse.

I'm still not convinced though that my mother's theory "morning sickness is all in your head" is true though. Cause I would have loved to have even less of that than I did...

Is there something about the pineapple, basil and oregano? Or are you just craving it?

All three are said to be things that will trigger or stimulate labor if you're ready or near ready to go. Not things I was craving, but I did have an awesome dinner last night that Cayne brought home as a vehicle for basil and oregano.

I hope the bath helped make you more comfortable. S/he is awfully comfortable up in there her/himself, isn't s/he?! (That was exhausting to type.)

It did help me relax a bit. Hung out in the tub, then took a shower and washed my hair.

I think I'd give birth in the water if the hospital would allow it. Another point in favor of doing it at home next time.
