Conversations...

Him: "Hey...do you know anything about FIST?"

Me: "Do you mean like, fisting the activity, or FIST the leather/SM group?"

Him: "No, I mean like the group."

Me: "I don't know much, but I do know people who I could ask if you have questions."

(yes. I was at work for that. it's neat that mentioning s/m in casual conversation is not totally off the wall.)

And then there was this one...

While talking about a friend of mine,

Me: "Well he's not gay and he's not straight."

Him: "So he's bisexual"

Me: "Yes. But he likes boys better than girls."

Him: "Sort of like you, how you like girls better than boys."

Me: "Well, yes."

Him: "That's what I admire about bisexuals...you refuse to cut off half the world as partners."

i have exactly one co-worker to whom i can have such conversations. it's a refreshing change from last year when my work partner was an obsessive compulsive born again christian. (no, that's not an exaggeration)
