Tsimmes anyone?

Cannot find a tsimmes recipe I really love. Making me grouchy.

I had one that used apples and sweet potato-I'm okay with carrots too.

Anyone with a favorite recipe?

Any thoughts on how to convert it to a crockpot recipe?

I have several recipes, a couple of which I make and we eat but none that I would rave about. If you do find one you love please share. As for converting it to a crockpot recipe, that is easy peasy. Dump in ingredients and turn on low. Leave for 3-6hrs depending on your timing.

Here's what I did...

three sweet potatoes
five or six carrots

Boil til soft, then mash with about a half teaspoon of cinnamon

Peel and slice three apples

Mix 2 tbsp melted butter or other fat with 1/3 cup of honey.

Mix the apples, and sweet potato/carrot mixture in the bottom of the crock pot. Add some orange juice (I didn't measure this, I just poured some on) and top with the honey mixture. Sprinkle the top with cinnamon and bake in the crock pot for about six hours on low.

It was yummy. I need to figure out how to do it in the oven...I think it might have too much liquid if I did it this way...maybe just eliminate the orange juice.
