For some reason, even though I'm TRYING to follow the FAQ instructions I can't get custom friends groups set up.

Color me lazily curious... what exactly is a custom friends group? A specific group of your friends who you can set permissions for seperately?

You're such a smart girl. Yep...that's exactly what it is. So, if I wanted to yammer on about IRC or something, I could create a group of people who all IRC. And stuff.

That's it exactly. If you don't want ALL of your friends to see something you've posted, but DO want to share with a select few, you can set up a group with the userids of those "special" friends. When you post to your journal, you choose "custom" in the security field and then select the group that can see that particular post.

I'm currently doing this with a food and exercise log because you guys don't need to see what I'm eating. *grin*
