Naomi and I went to the chiropractor today. Here's a picture of her getting adjusted by Dr. Cindy (Dr. Cindy asked if I would take a photo for her website, and this is it.)
Naomi's first adjustment was when she was just a few minutes old. She was born, nursed, cleaned up, adjusted, nursed again and went to sleep. Cindy was there when I was in labor with Naomi and adjusted me throughout-it really helped with the pain and Naomi's position. Mine was the first birth Cindy attended, too, which makes it even more special.
Cindy handed Naomi her beads to play with and Naomi just kind of hung out and let her work.
People look horrified when I tell them I take my kid to the chiropractor, but it's super gentle-no cracking-just gentle pressure. And it's good for preventing ear infections, too.
I don't do chiropractic, but I have massaged Evan since he was a newborn, which people seemed to think was strange. "Why does a baby need massage?" Aroo? Think for a minute, all the different ways babies use their muscles!
