What you should know...

geminigirlThere's some stuff going on that I'm not comfortable making public news yet. I've shared it on a limited basis with a few people, and will probably share with a few more over the next few days. It is making me very cranky, and difficult to be around. It is also causing me to have a little more difficulty dealing with normal, Naomi behavior than usual, which is frustrating and upsetting on top of everything else. If I'm a little less chipper, or a little more cranky, please, take this public service announcement to heart and know that I'm aware of what's up, what's causing this problem and that it will in fact get better soon enough.
You should also know:
Naomi is fine.
Cayne is fine.
Sonja is fine.
My family is fine.
My relationships are all doing well and I'm grateful for the love and support of the people around me. I'm just having a rough time at the moment and I know that the only thing to do about it right now is to be patient, to take good care of myself, to try not to be too hard on the people who unintentionally or accidentally push buttons that they don't know are sensitive spots right now, and to wait it out.
And I thank you for your support.
And to keep this from being a total downer...
Yesterday, Naomi was playing scientist. She had a sippy cup of water, and she sat down on the rug. She patted the rug, turned her sippy cup upside down and let some of the water flow out of it onto the rug, then patted the rug again. Then she moved to a new spot and repeated the entire process. It was rather impressive. I didn't let it go on for very long because I didn't want a wet rug, but it was interesting to watch.
She has begun to blow bubbles in the bath tub. This provides great amusement. She has also discovered that she can squirt herself with some of her squirty bath toys. She waits for someone to fill it, then takes it, turns it around and squeezes so that it squirts her. The turning towards herself is new-previously, there was simply joy in squirting it. Now it's much more important to squirt herself and not the adult accompanying her in the tub.
She also has begun to experiment with sharing. I put out a few of the unsalted pretzels that I like for her-she seems to like them too. Sometimes she'll take one and place it in my hand. This is often preceded by placing the pretzel in her mouth first, but we'll forgive that bit for now. She also has put something she likes to chew on into her own mouth, then take it out, and try to put it in your mouth, and then claps when you do
If you've read this far (even if you skipped the stuff behind the cut) I appreciate it. I'm just hanging in til things get better, and trying to let go because I know this stuff is out of my control.
