Here's what's happened since the last post in my LJ...

Celebrated Miriam's Birthday
Went on vacation with Cayne's family
As we were getting ready to go to the beach on 12/23, got a phone call from my mother "Your father is having open heart surgery tomorrow or Monday. You need to come to New York now." Was on a plane about six hours later.
Dad had heart surgery on 12/24. I assumed I'd come home a few days later.
Dad had some complications coming out of anesthesia, and recovering from surgery.
Ended up spending two and a half weeks in New York.
Got back. Kids were sick. Then I got sick.
I'm still recovering from that miserable flu-like illness that I got right after I got back.

We've also bought a bed, shifted Miriam's PT from twice a week to once every other week. We're now on a quest for the right nursery school for Naomi (one with a strong emphasis on play based learning and the social experience) and I'm not even sure what else is going on.

We're going to relax and watch RuPaul Drag Race now. I'll try and post photos and catch up with life.

Wow, that's a lot of life, that is.

I hope your dad is improving well and steadily.

Does the decreased PT frequency mean that it's working and things are getting better? Hope so!

wowzy what a lot going on. I was not aware your dad had surgery. I am glad he is getting better and you were able to come home. How scary a time that must have been.

I am glad you don't need this anymore, but in the future, we've found that CaringBridge is a great resource for keeping a lot of family members apprised and not tying up phone lines and such in the process. My cousin used this recently when my uncle was going through a health crisis and it was wonderfully reassuring. Very very glad your dad has surmounted his health crisis too.
