New computer=awesome. Makes me very happy. I'm using Chrome a lot, but I keep accidentally closing the browser, and I've yet to find a way to make it warn me that I'm closing all my tabs.

Spent a good part of the weekend working on a Facebook app with the hairy man beast. It's not live yet, it's really goofy, and I hope, no matter how much you hate pop culture, you'll try it because we're hoping that eventually it might make a little bit of money for us, if we can get enough people to use it.

Miriam frightened me this morning. She keep standing on the couch, and even though she's reminded and removed, this morning, she took a tumble onto the floor from the couch, and landed head first, tangled under the TV tray that Cayne's computer was on. She's fine, but I felt terrible. It just seemed like such a big fall. She's really starting to listen to directions and sometimes even respond. She's also getting teeth...I could feel three coming through, but they're coming in very slowly.

Naomi may be done with naps. I'm still enforcing quiet time in her room, but I think we've reached the end of a guaranteed nap. I'm a little sad, and a little hopeful. It means that I might get to do some stuff with her that is hard to do with Miriam around on a more regular basis.

Naomi's awareness of others has expanded greatly recently, as have her conversation skills.

Saturday morning, Naomi's T Rex balloon (a red and orange mylar dinosaur shaped balloon who everyone in our house calls T Rex) was limp. Our local grocery store will refill the balloon for a dollar, if we flatten him out (which we do by inserting a straw into his back and squishing him under a large piece of cardboard.) So Naomi notices that he's kind of limp and saggy. She goes over to T Rex, hugs him, and says to us, "Oh no! T Rex sad. Don't worry T Rex...we help you better." She knew something wasn't right with T Rex and wanted to help him feel better.

Sunday, we were in a parking lot. Naomi heard a propeller overhead, pointed at it and said "Look Mama, Hey-yi-copter." I looked at where she was pointing and said "Oh. That's not a helicopter. That looks like an airplane." She looked at me like I was totally out of my mind and said, "No it's not. It's a hey-yi-copter."

Today, we had an incident similar to T Rex on Saturday, only it began with "Oh no! Baby's crying!" She ran over to Miriam, hugged her and said "Is okay! We help you better."

And she looked at me and in her saddest voice said to me today, "Go see my Jacob?" (Jacob is one of her favorite people in the world to play with. Fortunately, Jacob's Mom and I had been emailing this morning and tentatively scheduled a playdate for this week.)

I got a box of dresses for the kids from my Mom today. Very cute stuff. Not all stuff that I'd have picked, but very cute, including a birthday dress for Naomi. We're not big on enforcing girly or anything here, but Naomi often calls a dress "a princess" whether or not it's a princess style dress. So she'll ask me for "a princess" when she wants to wear a dress. I'm quite happy to oblige the dress wearing-it makes it very easy for her to get to the potty herself on the occasions she deigns to use it.

Must figure out what to do about my wrist. My left wrist hurts, pain in the fingers, etc. My right wrist on the other hand makes me come to the verge of swearing some of the time. It seems carpal-tunnel like or similar, but I'm not sure. Going to try a wrist support on the right side (should probably do both sides but it would be nigh impossible simultaneously) and see if that helps reduce some of the pain.

Need to find someone who can help design a logo involving a hippopotamus, too.
