Went to bed with a bit of a sore throat last night-more than scratchy and dry, definite beginnings of sore. Woke up two hours later because of said sore throat. A tiny bit congested, which may or may not have anything to do with sore throat. Can't see if tonsils have patches, can't decide whether or not this is worth calling the doctor, but tylenol did nothing to make it possible to sleep...called in sick today mostly because I'm potentially contagious, and the combination of pregnant people and surpressed immune systems at work, I just felt irresponsible not doing that. The question though is, call the doctor or wait til tomorrow?

Feh.

Wait until tomorrow. In the meantime, rest and drink plenty of fluids. -sM

I'd add to gargle with salt water. A lot. My nurses (who should be on retainer) said as long as you don't swallor the water (i thought this was a no-brainer but I guess some people do), you can gargle as often as you want, though its particularly effective for me in the early morning. I'd wait a day on the doc unless you can think of something he can give you that might help much sooner.

Bleah. I hope you feel better!

(I never call the doctor for stuff like this until it's clear it's not a cold, so I'm a lousy person to ask.)

Compromise.

Call the doctor, but make the appointment for tomorrow. If you feel better you can cancel, if you don't, you've got the appointment.

And rest up!
