They're evacuating about a mile and a half away from me.

Dad thinks I need to go prepare just in case I get evacuated.

I think the chances of my actually being evacuated are slim to none...but at the same time, I'd rather not have to go digging for cat carriers in the dark. Carriers are stored in the basement.

I did find out which shelter will take me and the cats though...I know where my sleeping bag is. (It's not the closest shelter, but it's also not far either..it's the second closest one. Two county shelters at high schools with animal science programs will accept pets with their owners.)

I also have an offer from friends who are further inland, away from the river to take the three of us in if necessary.

I think I'll go grab the cat carriers just in case. Cause if I do actually go get them, I won't get evacuated. If I don't get take them out, you know they'll come get me after the power goes out.
